Autoportrait à l'Iphone

Crease in Paradise

I graduated from the Paris La Villette School of Architecture in 1993, and I currently live in Bayonne (France) with my two children.

Among the writers and poets I read and admire, Henri Michaux (1899–1984) and Sam Shepard (1943–2017) hold a special place. For reasons that would take too long to explain here, I have a special fondness for these two authors, so, as a tribute to their work, I named the French-language website after Henri Michaux’s book, La vie dans les plis (1949), and the English version based on Sam Shepard's book, Cruising Paradise (1996).

Meticulously folding “acres” of paper, as I do a little bit every day, can sometimes feel like such a long journey — over mountains and through valleys — that you find yourself daydreaming, losing a little control and track of time. So yes, we can certainly call it a cruise in paradise.

As for the names given to the various projects, they refer to the built works of architect Louis Kahn (1901–1974).

Lampe avant sa couture

Although their development is complete, the models presented here are essentially prototypes and, since they are not intended to remain museum pieces or one-of-a-kind items, but rather are meant to be reproduced, I invite you to let me know (or place an order for) the one or ones that have particularly caught your attention.

Also, please feel free to ask me for more details or additional photos. You can also suggest an artist residency or an exhibition for me to participate in.
